ISLAMABAD: The young doctor, who is constantly engaged in the treatment of patients suspected of corona virus in Gilgit-Baltistan in Pakistan, died on Sunday. His fellow doctors put the responsibility of this death on the government, saying that they were not provided with the necessary safety equipment. Gilgit-Baltistan Information Minister Shams Mir said 26-year-old doctor Osama Riaz was admitted to the district headquarters hospital of Gilgit after being hit by the corona virus. However, he could not be saved and died on Sunday.
Mir said, "Dr. Osama sacrificed his life to save others. He will be declared a national hero. He was posted for screening of Gilgit-Baltistan pilgrims from Iran and Iraq returning via the Taptan border. . "
Osama's colleagues have described his death as a great loss. He said that the government has not provided any security equipment to the doctors and other paramedical staff posted for their screening at the isolation center of the patient devotees.
A few days before his death, a video of Dr. Osama appeared in which he was seen saying what needs to be done for the isolated patients. In this video he was seen in a simple mask.
Referring to this mask, a doctor, Osama's associate, said, "Osama was constantly on duty and it is unfortunate that he did not have adequate and necessary protection items even during the treatment of corona virus patients."
