World Health Organization (WHO) chief Tedros Adenham Gebreyes warns that the state of the Covid-19 epidemic is worsening globally and things will not be back to normal for some time. Gebreyes said at a press conference on Monday that ‘things will not be back to normal in the near future’.
The head of the WHO said that the epidemic has been controlled, especially in many countries of Europe and Asia, but in some other countries the trend of infection is moving in the wrong direction.
Gebreyes called for countries to implement a holistic strategy to curb rising infections in many countries, saying that about half of new infections are coming from the United States. The WHO chief said that there was a roadmap to get out of the grip of the epidemic and that it was not too late to implement it even in areas with high incidence of infection.
