According to the website of Indian Oil, the price of petrol in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai remained at Rs 80.43, Rs 82.10, Rs 87.19 and Rs 83.63 per liter respectively for the 18th consecutive day. But the price of diesel in the four metros increased to Rs 81.35, Rs 76.49, Rs 79.56 and Rs 78.37 per liter respectively.

On the other hand, the international market was trading at a steady level in crude oil, although Brent crude remained above $ 43 per barrel and WTI remained above $ 40 per barrel.

The benchmark crude oil on the international futures market Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) was trading at $ 43.30 a barrel in Brent crude’s September futures contract, down 0.07 percent from the previous session.

On the New York Mercantile Exchange (Nymax), US light crude was trading at $ 40.87 a barrel, down 0.05 percent from the previous session in West Texas Intermediate (WTI) August futures contract.
